The Evolution of Cell Phones

Hard-wired, big, bulky and one big antenna. The cell phones from thirty years ago and the cell phones we have today are much, much different and have definitely improved over a period of time.
First we had that huge $ 2000 hunk of plastic that was hard wired into the car. Then they come up with the flip-phone-sophisticated looking, yet still big and a bit of a pain when you’re driving in the car and trying to answer the phone at the same time. Thirdly, they discover that we can get a signal without that bothersome antenna, so off it comes. Next we decide that the cell phones need a new look so the creators come up with some different styles. Now we have the flip phone, the razor, the slide phone and the very first original. After everyone decided the “look” was okay they thought we needed some new technology.

Now cell phones are not only used for communication, but people can also use cell phones to listen to music, go on the internet and take pictures. Not only has the technology changed, but also the cost has differed. The first cell phone was about $2000 and now you can get them for about $20 - $200. Also you can get some cell phones for free if you buy a certain plan.

Overall, I think the evolution of cell phones have made quite a drastic change in technology and with the people who use them.

Question: If cell phones did not improve from the very first one, do you think people would still use them as much?

No way!!!!!!!! People love having phones as small as possible and not having to lug them around! Personelly I wouldn't ude them only cause I find them to bulky. To put it in a nushell I prefere the new ones and would not use cell phones if they didn't move technologically forward. :):):):) (GO BOSTON!!!!!!!!!!)

I think people would still use them, but not as much because most people use cell phones to text or to take pictures.

No, I dont think that people would use cellphones as much because people like to have cellphones that they can fit in their pocket so they are easy to carry around when they are shopping, at school, or at an after school activities, etc. People also like having all of the features that cellphones now have like texting, listening to music and taking pictures. Overall people like the responsibility of having cellphones so i think that cellphones would still be used, just not as much as they are used today, if they were big and didnt have many features on them.

people would probably not use cell phones as much if they didn't improve them because many people use cell phones to text or take pictures. The first cell phones denfinatly didn't have cameras or the ability to text people. Now that cell phones have internet access, cameras, email, and text messaging you see everyone with cellphones but if they didn't have all of these advances people probably wouldn't use them as much I know that I wouldn't.
